About Emily Moorefield, RD, CEDS
Registered Dietitian | Certified Eating Disorder Specialist
Nutrition Services Based in Virginia
I offer virtual nutrition counseling for individuals who are navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, and gastrointestinal health concerns.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from James Madison University, completed a dietetic internship at the University of Virginia Health System, and passed the Registered Dietitian Certification exam. I later obtained my Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) credential.
Before founding Emily Moorefield Nutrition, LLC, I gained extensive experience working across multiple levels of eating disorder treatment, including Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Outpatient care. I also served as Nutrition Director at a Residential Treatment Center (RTC) for eating disorders for three years, all while growing my private practice. My work has focused on supporting both adolescents and adults in building the courage and confidence needed to heal their relationship with food and their bodies.
My approach blends evidence based nutrition science, motivational interviewing, and a trauma-informed, weight-neutral lens. In my work, I focus on helping clients rebuild body trust, release harmful food rules, and discover what a positive relationship with food truly looks like. I take a therapeutic, whole-person approach grounded in empathy and clinical excellence, supporting each client with care, integrity, and individualized guidance.
Whether you are seeking help for binge eating, restrictive eating, gut symptoms, or navigating nutrition in a stressful season of life, my virtual practice allows me to serve clients across Virginia, Arizona, California, Colorado, and Michigan from the comfort of their home
I welcome people of all body sizes, gender identities, sexual orientations, races, and religions.
